Do you love all things Scottish? Like listening to Pipe Bands and watching highland dancing? We certainly do - and if you do too, then your stay at Wellwood house is sure to be made all the more special by the Pitlochry Highland Games. The games themeselves were reformed in 1852, as evidenced by a brooch discovered, inscribed:
“Presented by Lady Feilden at the First Pitlochrie Highland Games to Mr Charles Duff of Dunavourdie as the Best Player on the Highland Bagpipes, 10th September 1852”
The games are an integral part of Scottish heritage, it’s what makes us unique – without them we’d be no different to the English! At Wellwood House we’re proud of our history, and we’re proud to accomodate anyone coming to participate in them or just to enjoy the festivities. The games are held on the second saturday of every September, and while we can’t gurantee sunshine, we can certianly gurantee a memorable event! Be sure to book well in advance as we run out of rooms very quickly.
